Tanning
Will I go brown?
Skin types 1, very fair, should not go on sunbeds and will not tan. Skin type 2, fair, are high risk and should be cautious. Turning brown is not guaranteed.

When will I go brown?
Usually you should take 3 sessions per week for 3 weeks using the correct accelerator to get a base tan.

What do tanning lotions do?
Tanning lotions speed up the tanning process whilst taking care of the skin.

How many sessions are safe?
A maximum of 2 – 3 moderate sessions per week. 60 sessions per year.

Why am I restricted on the length of my first session?
Urbanbeach restricts the length of your initial sessions to ensure your skin is not over exposed to the UV light which may cause burning.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours for all changes to appointments otherwise there is a 50% charge. There will be 100% charge for anyone who fails to turn up for their appointment. (see terms and conditions)

What’s included in my facials?
All Dermalogica facials are customised to your skin requirements. The skin therapist will use the exclusive Dermalogica face-mapping technique to adapt the facial specifically for you.

How long will my appointment take?
Appointment times will vary depending on the treatment and the therapist.

Does waxing hurt?
Our experienced therapists remove unwanted hair quickly and as painlessly as possible.
Of course the sudden extraction of a large amount of hair from its follicles is not pain-free and some clients have a lower pain threshold than others however the end result is worth the discomfort.

Will I go red from threading?
Any hair removal treatment will cause some redness. The level will depend on the individuals skin type.

How long will the results last?
This depends on many factors and varies - not only from person to person but from one session to the next!. Book too soon and the smooth results shall be short-lived - Book too late and the session may be more uncomfortable than necessary! Your therapist will advise you the best time to rebook depending on your hair growth.

How long do the lashes last?
Generally i-lash extensions can last up to 3-4 weeks from application. The lifetime of your lashes depends on your hair growth cycle and lifestyle. A regular maintenance programme every 2 weeks can extend the life to 8-12 weeks.
